Toronto – Internationally acclaimed Instrumental Progressive Rock group David Barrett Trio (David Barrett, Jason Farrar, Alexander “Sascha” Tukatsch) are preparing for the release of their second landmark studio album by releasing a spectacular live DVD and accompanying digital audio release from their breakout 2013/14 Tour.

The DVD/audio release “A Whisper To Thunder” was captured in April, 2013 at a live performance in Toronto. The show was in support of the Trio’s first release and featured a state-of-the-art, stadium level spectacle of light and sound, with a laser show designed by long-time Rush lighting director Howard Ungerleider of Production Design International.

Their first studio album was produced by Canadian music legend Alex Lifeson (RUSH) and Richard Chycki (Dream Theater). It also featured contributing production for the track “Belmonte” by Alan Parsons (Pink Floyd, Alan Parson Project). The release received stellar reviews and garnered global attention for the group. David Barrett is now widely viewed in the music community as a world-level instrumental composer and virtuoso performer, as evidenced by feature articles in international publications such as Guitar Player Magazine.

David Barrett is looking forward to the upcoming DVD and CD releases with great anticipation: “The DVD really captured the energy of the compositions. They were written to be performed live and the spirit of the songs really comes through, musically and visually, through the spectacle and multi camera shoot. It’s the perfect close to our opening chapter and bridge to take our incredibly supportive and loyal fans to the new work, coming in February.” The 14-track live DVD was directed by Peter Genrick, recorded and mixed by Alexander “Sascha” Tukatsch on the BAHM Mobile for BAHM Productions. It was mastered by Phil DeMetro at the Lacquer Channel in Toronto. Executive producers: David Barrett, Jason Farrar, Alexander Tukatsch and Peter Genrick. The David Barrett Trio’s sophomore studio album, “David Barrett Trio II” is scheduled for release on February 3, 2015.--- davidbarretttrio.com
