Originally from Perth, Samantha has recently moved to Sydney to make music her main priority. At 15, a family friend sent her demo to a producer in LA who flew her and her family to Hollywood.

2 years later, she was signed to Jive Records and recorded demo tracks with some of her idols. But after 3 years, her single was never released and her deal was shelved. She couldn't get a new record deal so after struggling for years in LA, she moved back to Australia. She worked for her Dad before deciding to move to Sydney where she's now a makeup artist while gigging. Has a long distance relationship with her boyfriend of six years who lives in LA.

Following on from the Seven Network announcement that Samantha Jade has taken out The X Factor title for 2012, Sony Music Entertainment Australia is pleased to release Samantha’s debut single What You’ve Done To Me!

Her debut album, Samantha Jade will be released on Friday 7 December 2012, and will feature her X Factor journey that the 25 year old from Perth, Western Australia has taken through the final 12 featuring re-recorded studio tracks of some of the incredible performances on the show including UFO, Breakeven, Wide Awake and Free Fallin’, as well as recordings of her standout performance & number #1 iTunes song, Heartless and her winning single, What You’ve Done To Me.

Chairman & CEO Australia & New Zealand and President, Asia, Sony Music Entertainment, Denis Handlin AM commented: “This has been an outstanding series of The X Factor. Congratulations to everyone at FremantleMedia Australia, Seven Network and to all the contestants that have participated. Samantha has proven what a tenacious young woman and strong contender she has been since day one and I am really excited that we will be releasing an album of Samantha’s incredible journey on the show in time for Christmas.”

Ian Hogg, CEO FremantleMedia Australia & Asia Pacific, says "With The X Factor brand going from strength to strength globally this is a very exciting and unique opportunity for Samantha to launch an international career with Sony. Denis Handlin and his team are the masters of nurturing talent." --- take40.com
