Ceti działa na polskiej scenie metalowej już 25 lat! ''Brutua Syndrome'' to już dziewiąty album studyjny w dyskografii zespołu. Na płycie znajdziemy wszystko to, co najbardziej charakterystyczne dla stylowego, nowocześnie brzmiącego heavy metalu. Muzyka Ceti cały czas potrafi porywać swą witalnością i pomysłowością. Na dobry początek serwuje nam ostrą jazdę w postaci ''Fight to kill.'' Perkusyjne intro, następujący po nim zmasowany atak gitarowych riffów i drapieżny śpiew Grzegorza. Mimo upływu lat głos lidera Ceti nic nie stracił ze swej mocy i drapieżności! Zespół jeszcze bardziej podkręca tempo w ''Wizards of the modern world'', w klimacie wczesnych dokonań Iron Maiden. Więcej mroku pojawia się w epickim ''Devil made me do it'', z budującymi nastrój grozy brzmieniami instrumentów klawiszowych.

Trzeba przyznać, że Grzegorzowi udało się znaleźć wspaniałych muzyków, którzy w doskonały sposób ''czują'' ducha Ceti. Na szczególną pochwałę zasługują gitarzysta Bartek Sadura oraz basista Tomasz Targosz. Ich pełna pasji oraz profesjonalizmu gra dodaje smaku każdej kompozycji. Posłuchajcie choćby ''The evil and the Troy''gdzie znajdziecie genialne solówki basu i gitary. Szczególnie podoba mi się fragment w którym te dwa instrumenty grają unisono! Poza czystym heavy metalem na ''Brutus Syndrome'' można też delektować się dźwiękami hard rocka, który wyraźnie słychać w ''The song will remain.''

Na ''Brutus Syndrome'' wyróżnia się także poruszająca ballada ''Somethin' more'', zbudowana na przestrzennych dźwiękach gitar klasycznych. Podobają mi się delikatne dźwięki klawiszy w tle – nadają one utworowi bardziej orkiestralnego charakteru. Zespół Ceti zawsze miał talent do tworzenia pięknych melodii i łączenia ich z metalowym czadem. Zaskakuje ''Second skin'', w którym muzycy, w bardzo ciekawy sposób, łączą metal z bluesem. Kolejnym mocnym punktem płyty jest kompozycja ''Sons of Brutus''z charakterystycznym galopującym rytmem, masywnymi riffami, miażdżąca grą sekcji rytmicznej i pełnym pasji śpiewem Grzegorza. Czyż trzeba czegoś więcej? Płytę zamyka posępny, niemal sabbatowy, ''Run to nowhere.'' Tak mrocznego i złowieszczego utworu jeszcze w historii Ceti nie słyszałem.

Album ''Brutus Syndrom'' ma świetne, mocne i zarazem selektywne brzmienie. Ceti wydał naprawdę dobry album – kto wie czy nie najlepszy obok ''Lamiastrady''? Nie ma na nim żadnych muzycznych wypełniaczy. Jednym małym minusem jest przesunięcie instrumentów klawiszowych na dalszy plan. ''Brutus Syndrome'' to wspaniały prezent nie tylko dla fanów zespołu, ale wszystkich sympatyków klasycznego heavy metalu. Dla mnie jedna z najciekawszych polskich płyt AD 2014. --- muzol.com.pl

From their late 1980s Hard Rock beginnings to the successful collaborations with a Symphonic orchestra, the Polish Rock/Metal act CETI have been ever changing, but what always remained stable about them was the extraordinary quality of their musicianship. Starting from the band's founders, charismatic front-man Grzegorz Kupczyk and classically trained keyboardist/singer Maria 'Marihuana' Wietrzykowska, the strength of their line-ups was an indisputable fact throughout the twenty five years of their tenure. After numerous personal changes and having trodden many a musical path, CETI now returns with their fifteenth album entitled 'Brutus Syndrome'.

A deafening drum roll opens the first track 'Fight To Kill' which is fuelled by fiery guitar riffs. 'Wizards Of The Modern World' electrifies with its breakneck pace somewhere along the border between the classic Heavy and Speed Metal; it is one of many proofs throughout the entire album that Kupczyk still remains the finest Polish voice of the genre. 'Devil Made Me Do It' with its Dio-esque style is followed by 'Master Of Dull' which is another feisty gallop embroidered with a melodic guitar solo. 'The Evil And The Troy' gravitates more towards Power Metal aesthetics with its harmonic vocals and numerous instrumental duels and interludes. 'The Song Will Remain' is raw verses heavily contrasted with powerful, melodic choruses, making it one of the album's highlights.

Another highlight – yet of different nature – is 'Somethin' More'; an acoustic slow-ish track gradually building up into a grandiose power ballad that may remind you of Whitesnake's gem 'Sailing Ships' (from their 'Slip Of The Tongue' album). Similarly to its predecessor, 'Second Sin' also features a mellow acoustic intro – but only for it to morph into a heavy, keyboard-laden Metal piece further on. 'Sons Of Brutus' and the final selection 'Run To Nowhere' are no worse than the rest of the material with an abundance of grand six string licks and the excellent work of the rhythm section against some really impressive vocals.

CETI's return with '...Syndrome' is nothing but a triumphant one – there isn't a better way to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the band's foundation than releasing an album that is another milestone of their works. Heavy and guitar-laden, but also tastefully melodic, 'Brutus Syndrome' is a brilliant compromise between the contemporary production and the classic Metal sound. It also portrays the musicians in excellent shape – and with an apparent excess of musical ideas that resulted in them releasing not only a full album, but also two additional singles with some unreleased rarities (one of them being 'Game Of Love' that features an impressive vocal duo between Kupczyk and Alessandro Del Vecchio).
