Lulu Reinhardt is unfortunately less well-known than he should be in France, despite being the alter ego of violinist Titi Winterstein. This quintet has been hard at work on the trail of gipsy jazz in Germany. This guitar player, born in Alsace in 1951, together with his colleague Häns’che Weiss, has been one of the best exponents of the German school of gipsy swing. He has a hard and percussive attack, with rolls of chords and a rhythmic approach that is less widespread on this side of the Rhine. Here he is with a sextet including the guitarists Rino van Hooijdok and Rigo Winterstein. Lovers of good old-time swing should not miss this concert under any circumstances. It will be a Samois exclusive. --- festivaldjangoreinhardt.com
