On the set of Nel Sole, an Italian musical movie production, Romina Power met her future husband, singer Al Bano Carrisi. The couple married in 1970, after having worked together on the recording of her first hit single “Acqua di Mare.” The song was the winner of Festival Bar, a major summer competition that featured the most popular Italian artists of that time.

Al Bano and Romina Power became a singing duo in 1975, and they had an incredible string of successes in Latin America and Europe, especially Germany, Austria, Spain, USSR and Romania. In Romania, after the fall of the general secretary of the communist party and president Nicolae Ceausescu, their song,”Liberta (Freedom),” was played on national radio.

In 1980, Al Bano & Romina Power won the special Kawakami award in the Yamaha Pop Festival in Japan. In 1984 they won the prestigious San Remo Song Festival in Italy with “Ci sara.” The singing duo became household names throughout Europe with hits like “Felicita,” “Tu, soltanto tu,” “Sempre sempre,” “Liberta” and “Sharazan.” They have a huge fan base that still exists today. Duet Al Bano & Romina Power znany jest w Polsce głównie dzięki przebojom "Felicita" oraz "Ci Sara". W trakcie swojej niemalże 30-letniej kariery artyści nagrali 22 albumy i wielokrotnie gościli na różnych festiwalach i konkursach, m.in. w Sanremo i Eurowizji.

Para spotkała się w 1967 w trakcie kręcenia filmu "Nel Sole". Al Bano (właśc. Albano Carrisi, urodził się w 1943 roku w Cellino San Marco) był już wtedy znanym we Włoszech piosenkarzem, zaś Romina Power (urodziła się w 1951 roku w Los Angeles) - aktorką. Trzy lata później wzięli ślub, a w tym samym czasie ukazał się ich pierwszy wspólny album zatytułowany "Storia di Due Innamorati." Wkrótce artyści podpisali kontrakt z wytwórnią WEA, co zaowocowało kolejnym albumem "Fotografia de un Momento".

Ogromny sukces para odniosła na początku lat 80. kiedy wylansowali swoje największe przeboje i wydali albumy takie jak: "Aria Pura", "Siempre Siempre", "Liberta!", "Navidad Ha Llegado" i wiele innych. W roku 1999 Al Bano i Romina rozstali się zarówno zawodowo, jak i prywatnie (nieporozumienia spowodowane było głównie zaginięciem ich najstarszej córki w USA).
