In 1972 Rudy Wurlitzer asked Bob Dylan for co-operation. He was in the final stages of writing the script for the film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. He wanted Dylan to create the soundtrack.
Wurlitzer needed a theme song. As Dylan had nothing else to do at the time, he set about reading the script. He liked the film characters and quickly wrote the ballad 'Billy'. He even asked Wurlitzer for a role in the film. Wurlitzer promised to help, so Dylan and his wife went to Durango...

I have been planning to write about this lady for a long time. I have resolved on doing it now, because she sings carols beautifully. Kiri Te Kanawa was born on 5 March 1944 in Gisborne, New Zealand. Her original name was Claire Rawstron. Her father was Maori and her mother was European, but there is little known about them. It is said that her father was a Maori aristocrat. Minnie The Moocher is the greatest hit of Cab Calloway. The song was recorded in 1931 and, although it was the time of the big crisis in the USA, it turned out to be a great success.
